Death Forest: The Forest that Deaths
At least in my head that's the title I really wanted for this movie.
It's not good. But it has its creepy moments later in a short runtime movie.
I bought a bootleg bluray with all 5 movies, the subtitles for this one were complete and utter trash so I gave up trying to decipher what was being said and just kinda vibed for the remainder of the movie. Creepy grinning almost naked ashy colored bald guys were running around the forest.
Here's to marathoning a sh*t horror series 🍻

Huh
This was not good. The subs I found were quite bad, but the plot is paper thin so it wasn’t hard to understand the story.
The movie itself is dreadfully boring. Nothing happens till the 40 minute mark in a 60 minute movie. Once people start dying it becomes somewhat watchable. The monsters are weird as sh*t and it’s occasionally kinda spooky with some eerie shots. There’s these ash covered bald men with giant lipless grins that appear and they’re actually freaky. Then there’s the giant floating beach ball head with its bad wig and Joker smile and it straddles that line between goofy and terrifying. If there was more of them it’d be a better movie.
There’s 4 more movies in this series and you better believe I’m watching them.

I watched this movie with no subtitles, but I'm sure having them would make no difference.

was looking for this for 2 years and finally found it. this film series has my favorite creature design ever, period. The series was based off of a really sh*tty slender clone and the creature looked creepy there too but this takes it to a new level

I f*cking love anything with floating heads

Floating head I love you.
This movie veered a little towards the bland side of j-horror, but it had a nice aesthetic and seeing the creepy forest creatures was pretty good. I think there's more charm here than people necessarily give it credit for, and it's a shame it's seemingly impossible to find good English subtitles right now. I probably would have enjoyed it more with a good translation, but at least there was fun to be had with the nonsense subs.
Given the game this movie is based on is fairly barebones, I think they did a good job with it and I will absolutely be watching the rest of this series. 5 Death Forest movies! How could I not become a stan?
