Dr Meghesh Shelat

Lead Dentist

I gained the Bachelor of Dental Surgery from The University of Manchester and also achieved Membership to the prestigious Joint Dental Faculties at The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (MFDS RCPS Glasgow) I cannot imagine doing any other job. The passion I have for dentistry is reflected within my daily practice and patients regularly complement me on my level of care and my ability to put them at ease very quickly.

I have attended various courses to enhance my skills in cosmetic dentistry as well as being qualified in England to deliver both intravenous and inhalation sedation. I like to work together with my patient and give them the smile they always wanted. It is a very emotionally rewarding experience for us both!

I am an avid reader of the British Dental Journal. I have been a reviewer for articles and books prior to them being published since 2015. This helps me to keep up to date with current best practice and latest technologies within dentistry.

Outside of dentistry I enjoy football, going to the gym, playing the guitar and socialising with friends.

At DB Dental Brighton, dental appointments are available from Monday through to Saturday and can be made for a range of reasons. We have a large family patient base which means our treatments are tailored to give you and your family the best experience possible. Some of the most common treatments that our Brighton dentists perform on a regular basis include regular check-up and cleans, fillings, teeth whitening, and crowns. Contact us today to make your next appointment.

Although brushing your teeth twice a day helps you maintain good oral hygiene, regular brushing alone will not completely remove all traces of plaque. It’s possible to still develop dental issues such as cavities. Cavities form when plaque and bacteria are left behind, this plaque can damage the hard surface of your teeth leading to cavities and sometimes tooth decay. There are a number of factors that increase plaque, including a sugary diet, smoking and a lack of flossing. To minimise the risk of cavities, it’s important you see your local dentist for a regular dental check-up and clean each year. Contact your local Jindalee dentist at DB Dental Brighton to book an appointment.

The tooth-filling process typically takes between 15 to 45 minutes. The length of your appointment will depend on the number of fillings you need, the size of the filling and the location of the tooth. During the dental filling procedure, your dentist will first clean and prepare the tooth before applying the filling, shaping it and finally, polishing it. You can also expect your filling to last from 5 to 15 years, however, the length of time can vary depending on your chewing habits, wear and tear, and other dental habits like grinding and oral hygiene practices. Regular Jindalee dental clinic check-ups and cleanings can help you extend the life of a dental filling.

A regular check-up and clean is recommended by your local DB Dental dentist in Jindalee as this basic service will help to maintain your oral hygiene. Regular visits to the dentist will help you avoid unexpected or emergency appointments. A check-up and clean is required at least every 12 months to ensure your mouth is healthy, and there are no underlying dental issues that need to be addressed. To make your regular Jindalee dental clinic appointment, contact us today or book online via our website.
