Priceline VIP Rewards Visa Review 2024 (2024)

Priceline VIP Rewards™ Visa® Card* vs. Citi Rewards+® Card

Also lacking an annual fee, the Citi Rewards+® Card offers multiple similarities to the Priceline VIP Rewards™ Visa® Card*. The card earns 2 ThankYou Points per dollar at supermarkets and gas stations for the first $6,000 in spending per year and 1 ThankYou Point per dollar on other eligible purchases, plus 5 ThankYou® Points per dollar on hotel, car rentals and attractions booked on CitiTravel.com through December 31, 2025. These categories are pretty similar to the Priceline VIP Rewards Visa, but may better serve someone who spends more at supermarkets than at restaurants.

While the Priceline VIP Rewards Visa only offers a 0% introductory APR on balance transfers, the Citi Rewards+ extends its 0% introductory APR to purchases as well. Cardholders receive a 0% intro APR on balance transfers for 15 months from date of first transfer and on purchases from date of account opening. After that, the variable APR will be 18.74% - 28.74%, based on your creditworthiness. An intro balance transfer fee of either 3% of each transfer or a minimum amount of $5 within the first 4 months of account opening applies. After that, the amount of each balance transfer will be 5% of each transfer (minimum $5) applies.

Citi Rewards+ cardholders also get 10% points back on up to the first 100,000 ThankYou® Points redeemed each year, adding an extra boost to the rewards potential of this card. Finally, the card’s welcome bonus is a bit stronger than the Priceline VIP Rewards Visa: Earn 20,000 bonus points after spending $1,500 in purchases within 3 months of account opening; redeemable for $200 in gift cards at thankyou.com.

Priceline VIP Rewards™ Visa® Card* vs. Wells Fargo Active Cash® Card

Wells Fargo Active Cash® Card earns 2% cash rewards on purchases. This simple, flat-rate cash-back structure may appeal to those who don’t want to track spending across categories. It may also appeal to those who want to track spending in specific bonus categories with one card and place all other spending on a “catch-all” card that’ll earn a more generous reward than most cards’ baseline rewards do.

The Wells Fargo Active Cash isn’t just a cash-back card, though. In addition to a cellphone insurance benefit, it also offers a 0% intro APR for 15 months from account opening on purchases and qualifying balance transfers, then a 20.24%, 25.24%, or 29.99% variable APR applies. Balance transfers made within 120 days qualify for the intro rate and fee of 3% then a fee of up to 5%, with a minimum of $5 applies. Cardholders have the chance to receive a welcome bonus: earn a $200 cash rewards bonus after spending $500 in purchases in the first 3 months. For those looking for a single card, the Wells Fargo Active Cash will likely out-reward and out-benefit the Priceline VIP Rewards Visa.

Priceline VIP Rewards™ Visa® Card* vs. Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card

The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card comes with a travel agency attached. The card earns 5 points per dollar on travel purchased through Chase Travel℠, 3 points per dollar on dining, select streaming services, and online grocery purchases (excluding Walmart, Target and wholesale clubs), 2 points per dollar on all other travel purchases and 1 point per dollar on other purchases. It also offers a welcome bonus: 75,000 bonus points after spending $4,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening. Not only are Chase Ultimate Rewards® one of the most valuable points currencies available, cardholders of the Chase Sapphire Preferred can redeem points for 25% more value and points may be transferred 1:1 to a list of partners, including United and Marriott.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred does charge a $95 annual fee. Its extra perks include travel coverages, purchase protection, extended warranty and more. Compared to the Priceline VIP Rewards Visa, the Sapphire Preferred is, well, highly preferred—but only for those willing to pay an annual fee.
