There's a lot of debate around how often you should wash your hair. It's largely dependant on the individual, the texture, the climate, lifestyle and more. There's no one-size-fits-all rule, but it's widely accepted that a daily wash probably isn't ideal for healthy hair, and if you do, try to get yourself down to at least every other day.
That's why I was a little surprised when I heard Jennifer Aniston, in a video for her haircare brand Lolavie, say she washes it every day. Especially as her hair is bleached and naturally wavy – two factors making it less likely to be greasy, and more prone to dryness. But Jen went on to clarify the circ*mstances when daily washing is on the cards, and it's largely to do with her job.
When asked; "How often do you wash your hair?" She answered; "If I'm working, every day. If I'm not working I try to, you know, every three days."
It makes a lot of sense that her hair will need to be washed and styled more when shooting, and by minimising washing when not working, she'll be giving her tresses some respite.
Every three days is just over twice weekly, which seems a great balance for someone with her hair texture, and far more along the lines of what I would have expected. Though I'm not one to shampoo shame anyone!
*I'd take all her answers in this video with a pinch of salt, as she also says in it that she has bad hair days, which is clearly a lie.
Jennifer Aniston loves the Restorative Shampoo and Conditioner from her haircare brand, LolaVie. The actress also loves the Glossing Detangler for her hair which “can get kind of nasty and hard to brush through when it's wet.”
This is the first episode with Rachel's new, very short, blunt bob. Jennifer Aniston told InStyle magazine, "The real reason I cut my hair? My real hair was getting thinned out again from all the extensions. It was starting to look fake".
Apparently, on Sundays, Aniston fits in a weekly deep conditioning treatment-typically the Living Proof Restore Mask. Another all-important supplementary treatment is a scalp scrub, usually once a month, to remove dead skin from the scalp to help eliminate buildup, boost blood flow, and promote growth.

It's hard to name a haircare brand with more famous fans than Kérastase, which counts both Hollywood and real-life royalty among its satisfied customers. Meghan Markle once told Beauty Banter she uses this Oléo-Relax line “religiously,” along with the brand's Masquintense Nutritive Hair Mask ($64).
If you're wondering how the actor gets her hair so sleek and shiny, well, some of the credit has to go to her longtime hairstylist Chris McMillan, who she has worked with since the Friends days. However, Aniston has also been known to have keratin hair treatments to smooth frizz and boost shine.
Similar to the prior season's look, but a little longer and—dare we say—even shinier? Aniston's role in 2001's Rockstar was the reason for Rachel's particularly lengthy and luscious locks this season. Her experience with extensions for Rockstar led to Rachel's bob, Aniston revealed to InStyle.
LolaVie has the same signature scent in all its products. Fun fact: it's inspired by some of Aniston's favorite spas around. The result: a naturally-derived fragrance with an herbal, citrus and woody aroma that evokes a calming vibe.
A little hair thinning is normal but if you're starting to notice more than usual, you might want to turn to the helping hand of Jen Aktin. More specifically, Ouai's hair supps, enriched with biotin (for hair strength) and pea shoot extract (which promotes less shedding) for thicker-looking locks in 60 days.
Under McMillan's watch, Aniston takes hair-washing very seriously. When she cleanses her hair with her choice shampoo—alternating between Living Proof No Frizz Shampoo and Drunk Elephant Cocomino Glossing Shampoo based on the day's needs—she lathers, rinses, and repeats.
Having served as the face of Aveeno for over a decade, Jennifer told Forbes that moisturizing daily and using Aveeno 50 SPF sunscreen are key. Self-care Sunday is another secret. The Aveeno spokeswoman told Shape in 2017: "Sunday is my spa day.
The stylist confirmed with Refinery 29 that Kérastase Bain Oléo-Relax is still a holy grail beauty item for Meghan Markle. According to her, it's the royal secret to her flawless blowout. Her sister-in-law, Kate Middelton is also a fan of Kérastse's shampoo for hair care needs. (Courtesy of Kérastase.)
When Aniston first came into the acting scene, she rocked her natural brown hair. Much to the shock of longtime fans, Aniston is a natural brunette and we're seriously obsessed with the wispy '90s vibes from it!
When visiting her hairdresser in London, Kate will often receive deep conditioning treatments including power fusio-dose Kerastase rituals. To keep her hair healthy at home she uses the Kerastase Bain Satin range which includes a shampoo, conditioner and hair mask.
