Refrigeration:

Do you want to eat the kielbasa within the next week?

  • If so, place it in the refrigerator. An unopened vacuum-sealed package will stay fresh for about 2 weeks. An opened package will stay fresh for about 1 week.
  • If not, place it in the freezer. An unopened vacuum-sealed package will stay good for several months. When you are ready, let it thawin the refrigerator aday before you want to eat it.

Preparation of Kielbasa:

If you have our raw Fresh Kielbasa, it must becooked until the internal temperature reaches at least 160°F.

  • Boil:Placethe kielbasa in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 30 minutes.
  • Bake: Place kielbasa on a tray in a 375° oven for about 20 minutes. Then flip and bake for another 20 minutes.
  • Grill: Place kielbasa on a hot grill for a total of 25 minutes, flipping often. Do not cut the kielbasa as this will cause it to leak.

If you have any other kielbasa, allyou have to do is heat it up. Use any one of the following techniques:

  • Grill: Place kielbasa on a hot grill for about 5minutes, then flip and cook the other side for another 5minutes.
  • Bake: Place kielbasa on a tray in a 350° oven for about 15minutes.
  • Sautée: Cut kielbasa into 1” thick slices and pan fry it with oil and sliced onions.
  • Boil: Place kielbasa in a pot of water. Bring water to boil, then turn down the heat and let simmer for 5 to 10 minutes.

What should I serve kielbasa with?

Kielbasa is best served on a plate or in a roll with mustard, horseradish, or sauerkraut, but can also be combined with other ingredients in stews, soups, casseroles, and sauces. We find it very rewarding to experiment with different recipes, and we encourage you to do the same!
