Bisquick Recipes

Ok, I’ve decided it! Bisquick is one of the greatest inventions ever! Since we’ve started this website, we’ve used it in so many delicious things! It’s like the ultimate shortcut for so many recipes!

We’ve made tasty appetizers like Bisquick Sausage Balls. And Bisquick has made the Cheddar Garlic Biscuits super easy! Bisquick can make a pretty dandy Chicken Finger and, of course a tasty dessert.

Last week, we shared a recipe for Bisquick Coffee Cake. We thought we’d keep the breakfast pastries rolling this week by sharing this recipe for Bisquick Cinnamon Rolls!

Bisquick Cinnamon Rolls

The first thing to note about these Cinnamon Rolls is that they are made with no yeast. So, they aren’t as light and flakey as a traditional Cinnamon Roll is. But they are still delicious and SOOOO easy to make.

Otherwise, as long as you’ve got a box of Bisquick Baking Mix in your pantry (and you should ALWAYS have a box of Bisquick in your pantry), you’ve probably already got all the ingredients that you will need to have these yummy cinnamon rolls creating delicious smells in your kitchen!

Here is what you’ll need:

FOR THE CINNAMON ROLLS

  • White sugar
  • Ground cinnamon
  • Bisquick baking mix
  • Milk
  • Vanilla extract
  • Butter, melted

FOR THE GLAZE

  • Powdered sugar
  • Milk

Storing Your Cinnamon Rolls

Your Bisquick Cinnamon Rolls should be good in an airtight container for about 2 days. This baking pan works great because it comes with an airtight lid! If you’d like to extend their shelf-life a bit, you can store them in the refrigerator. Obviously, these rolls are best served warm. But about 20 seconds in the microwave should do the job.

Can you freeze these Cinnamon Rolls? Yes. You can. Although I wouldn’t freeze them after you put the frosting on them.

Other Notes, Tips and Variations

  • TO BROWN?-Keep an eye on the rolls as they are baking. If it is looking like they are getting to burnt on top, cover them with aluminum foil for the remainder of the baking.
  • DON’T OVERMIX- When making the dough, don’t overmix the ingredients. Mix until they are just combined.
  • SUB BUTTERMILK-You can try subbing Buttermilk for the regular milk to make these Bisquick Cinnamon Rolls a little softer. But regular milk works fine!
  • ADD NUTMEG-We wanted to keep things simple, so we didn’t do it. But you can certainly add a little nutmeg along with your cinnamon to add some flavor to this recipe. Around 1/2 tsp should do it!
  • ADD SOME FALL FLAVOR?-You could also try using a Caramel Glaze on top of the Cinnamon Rolls. We have a delicious recipe for a Caramel Glaze that would work awesome with this recipe!

I made this recipe for Thanksgiving. After I cut the rolls, I flattened them and used them in a buttered, round casserole dish. Then I put my homemade apple pie filling on top. I finished with a brown sugar crumble. It was so good! My only hiccup with the recipe was; I put everything under “roll ingredients” into one bowl. I didn’t realize it until I added the cinnamon and the dough turned a cinnamon color. It might be helpful to have “roll ingredients” and “filling ingredients” or something of that nature. Thank you!

It’s a great recipe worked good except my oven Cooks I’m not sure what the word is but my first batch got overcooked I did it at 375 for 18 minutes so for my oven I had to tone it down to 350 for 18 minutes and those came out perfect.

My second two batches at the new adjusted temperature I did one with the powdered sugar glaze and if you like cream cheese Betty crocker cream cheese frosting on the other batch and those were really great.

Thank you for posting your recipe online.

Just like with many baking recipes, the vanilla is pretty important here. I’d go to the store and get some.

FAQs

Why pour milk on cinnamon rolls before baking? ›

Julie Clark, the blogger behind the website, notes that after years of research, she discovered that the key to getting perfectly gooey rolls is to “pour heavy cream over the cinnamon buns before baking. THIS is the secret ingredient and what makes the rolls rich and gooey.”

Why are my cinnamon rolls not fluffy? ›

There are a lot of variables that go into the consistency of dough, even down to the weather and humidity. But the most common reason cinnamon rolls don't turn out fluffy is because the dough didn't have enough time to rise.

Is heavy cream the same as heavy whipping cream? ›

Is Heavy Cream the Same as Heavy Whipping Cream? Yes, heavy cream and heavy whipping cream are the exact same thing. The confusion lies in the fact that they're sold by different brands under two different names.

Is whipping cream the same as heavy cream? ›

The main difference between the two is their fat content. Heavy cream has slightly more fat than whipping cream. Otherwise, they are nutritionally very similar. You can use them interchangeably in recipes without affecting the taste, although they may lead to different consistencies.

Should the cinnamon rolls touch or be kept apart while baking? ›

Cinnamon rolls are notably very elastic and stretchy. As the dough bakes, it will expand and cover more space than you'd think. If you want perfectly-cooked cinnamon rolls, you need to give enough space for the rolls to expand during baking.

Should cinnamon rolls touch when baking? ›

Place the cinnamon rolls into your prepared pan, with little room between each roll and ½ inch from the edge of the pan. Lightly press down on each roll so that the edges of each roll barely touch each other, and improve their round form if needed.

Why are my homemade cinnamon rolls tough? ›

Don't Overmix the Dough

When making cinnamon rolls, mix the dough just until the ingredients are incorporated and the dough is smooth and soft. Overmixed dough leads to tough cinnamon rolls. The dough is ready when it pulls away from the sides of the mixing bowl and feels tacky but doesn't stick to your fingers.

What is the secret ingredient in Cinnabon? ›

Cinnabon's Secret Ingredient

This special Indonesian cinnamon, called Makara, is trademarked by Cinnabon. And because of that trademark, you won't find this product in your local grocery store spice aisle.

What happens if you let cinnamon rolls rise too long? ›

Can cinnamon rolls rise for too long? Yes definitely! If you let your cinnamon rolls rise for too long you can over-proof them. This can lead to dense rolls or rolls that collapse after baking.

What is the best flour for cinnamon rolls? ›

Bread flour is hands down the best option when making cinnamon rolls. Any good cinnamon rolls recipe is going to usually call for bread flour instead of other kinds of flour. This is because bread flour is high in protein, usually containing 11% to 13% more protein than other kinds of flour.

What kind of pan is best for baking cinnamon rolls? ›

You can either put into a lightly greased 9 x 13 pan or I used 2- 9" round cake pans. Bake these at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Beat together the icing ingredients and ice them when they come out of the oven.

Should I put parchment paper under cinnamon rolls? ›

Prepare 9x13in (doesn't have to be exact, just close) baking pans by lining with parchment paper. I use parchment paper just about every time I bake anything. Not only does it help keep things from sticking to the pan, it also helps keep the dough from burning. Now is a good time to start the oven preheating (350°F).

What does heavy cream do in baking? ›

Heavy cream whips very nicely and holds its shape consistently for a long period of time. So this is the one you should use when making ice creams and cakes and even ganache. It is also used in gravies like Tikka masalas to give them thick and creamy feel.

How do you moisten cinnamon rolls? ›

Place the rolls in a baking dish. Add a little dribble of water (1 teaspoon per roll) over each roll to rehydrate the rolls as they are reheated. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil. This will create steam as they warm and will rehydrate the rolls.

Why did the butter melt out of my cinnamon rolls? ›

Don't leave them on a warm, preheating stove for their second rise. The butter will melt and leak out of the filling.

How do you keep Pillsbury cinnamon rolls moist? ›

Basically, you place all five Pillsbury Grands! Cinnamon Rolls in the pan like you normally would. But before you pop them in the oven, you pour half a cup of heavy cream right over them. Then bake per usual, ice them after they've cooled, and enjoy.
