2024 NFL Draft Prospects: Wide Receiver – WalterFootball (2024)

4/22/24: In 2023, Harrison totaled 67 receptions for 1,211 yards and 14 touchdowns. He gave proof that he is a future No. 1 receiver with excellent size, speed, ball skills, instincts, and mismatch ability. Harrison runs routes like a smaller receiver, and he obviously learned a lot from his Hall of Fame father. However, the younger Harrison is much bigger than his father and is more like a A.J. Green- or CeeDee Lamb-type receiver for the next level. Team sources have said Harrison graded as a high first-round pick, but he did not grade out as high as Calvin Johnson or Andre Johnson did. Still, Harrison is my top-rated non-quarterback for the 2024 NFL Draft.

9/2/23: Harrison broke out in 2022 as a sophom*ore, recording 77 receptions for 1,263 yards and 14 touchdowns. He provided a dynamic mismatch weapon for C.J. Stroud. While Harrison has excellent height and length, he also has the speed to get downfield. Harrison runs routes like a smaller receiver, and he obviously learned a lot from his Hall of Fame father.

4/22/24: Nabers turned 89 catches into 1,546 yards and 14 touchdowns during 2023. He showed dynamic route-running, quickness, and big-play ability. Team sources love Nabers’ elite speed, explosion, and ability to create separation. Some evaluators have Nabers graded higher than Marvin Harrison Jr. However, there are some character concerns with Nabers.

9/2/23: While Kayshon Boutte was supposed to be LSU’s No. 1 receiver in 2022, Nabers out played Boutte and was a steady contributor for Jayden Daniels. Nabers caught 72 passes for 1,017 yards and three touchdowns on the year. He has decent size and played tough for LSU.

4/22/24: In 2023, Odunze recorded 87 catches for 1,640 yards and 13 touchdowns. He made a ton of clutch catches, using his size to be a dangerous weapon on the sideline. Odunze is phenomenal at working back-shoulder passes and has the size to box out corners. Additionally, Odunze is very skilled at making contested catches. Some team sources are concerned whether Odunze is fast enough to be able to separate from NFL cornerbacks, but Odunze helped himself by running well at the combine. Team sources like the character and make-up with Odunze.

9/2/23: With Michael Penix at quarterback in 2022, Odunze broke out for Washington, recording 75 receptions for 1,145 yards and seven touchdowns. Odunze already has quality size, but if he shows the speed to separate against NFL-caliber cornerbacks, he could be a riser for the 2024 NFL Draft.

4/22/24: In terms of size, speed, athleticism and upside, Thomas might have the best skill set of any receiver in the 2024 NFL Draft. In 2023, he recorded 68 catches for 1,177 yards and 17 touchdowns. There is no doubt that Thomas has mismatch size and is a fast wideout with the ability to challenge teams vertically. However, he lacks toughness, doesn’t run good routes, drops passes, and plays “finesse” for a big receiver. Thomas needs development time at the next level.

4/22/24: Worthy notched 75 receptions in 2023 for 1,014 yards and five touchdowns. Some team sources believe Worthy will go in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. While is he not big, he is fast, explosive, and very dangerous with the ball in his hands. Worthy gave that emphatic proof with the fastest official time ever at an NFL combine.

9/2/23: Worthy is a quick, shifty, undersized playmaker who can get open vertically and is a threat to score on any reception. Worthy had an impressive debut in 2021 with 62 catches for 981 yards and 12 touchdowns. In 2022, he had 60 receptions for 760 yards and nine scores. During both seasons, Worthy dealt with inconsistent quarterback play.

4/22/24: In 2023, Mitchell totaled 55 catches for 845 yards and 11 touchdowns. He has a skill set for the pro game and upside to develop. Mitchell possesses mismatch size and length, including a large catch radius. He has straight-line speed, but he lacks quick explosion and change-of-direction juice. Mitchell also needs to get stronger for the NFL. One can see why Mitchell was a top recruit at Georgia, and he was wise to transfer to Texas. Mitchell, however, could slide in the 2024 NFL Draft because NFL team sources have character and medical concerns around him. Mitchell has diabetes, and teams have concerns with how he manages the disease.

9/2/23: Mitchell played at Georgia over his freshman and sophom*ore seasons, but he was limited in 2022, missing nine games with injury. Mitchell had only nine catches in 2022, but recorded 134 yards and three touchdowns. In 2021, he took 29 receptions for 426 yards and four scores. Mitchell transferred to Texas for 2023, and he could be poised for a big season with the Longhorns.

4/22/24: In 2023, Coleman totaled 50 catches of 658 yards and 11 touchdowns. The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder has good size with quickness, athleticism, and excellent ball skills. In 2022 for Michigan State, he recorded 58 receptions for 798 yards and seven touchdowns while playing. Coleman opened the 2023 season, and his career as a Seminole, with a monster game of nine catches for 122 yards and three touchdowns versus LSU. Coleman also got the better of a future NFL corner in Wake Forest’s Caelen Carson in their matchup. Team sources have said Coleman moves well for a big wideout and presents size-mismatch problems. However, Coleman is slow and could have problems separating in the NFL. That could make him more of a No. 2 wideout as a pro.

4/22/24: McConkey was out with a back injury until the final game of September. After some quiet outings, McConkey (6-135-1) came alive against Florida. He caught 29 passes in 2023 for 456 yards and two touchdowns. McConkey is a quick receiver who is phenomenal after the catch, but he has size and durability concerns for the NFL.

9/2/23: McConkey is not the biggest or the fastest receiver, but he is a gritty football player who came up with some clutch plays for the Bulldogs in their back-to-back National Championship seasons. In 2022, he recorded 58 catches for 762 yards and seven touchdowns. It was a big improvement over 2021 (31-447-5). McConkey might fit best as a slot receiver for the NFL.

4/22/24: Pearsall recorded 65 receptions for 965 yards and four touchdowns in 2023. He played well for the Gators, showing route-running, quickness, and yards after the catch. He could be a nice weapon as a slot receiver in the NFL, but also has enough size to line up on the outside. At the Senior Bowl, Pearsall had a number of good practices. He then ran well at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine.

9/2/23: Pearsall played well in 2022 – his first season with the Gators – and recorded 33 receptions for 661 yards and five touchdowns. Florida had inconsistent quarterback play, but Pearsall was impressive with his quickness, route-running, and playmaking potential. Quarterback play could hurt him again, but Pearsall could be a sleeper value pick for the NFL.

4/22/24: In 2023, McMillan totaled 45 receptions for 559 yards and five touchdowns. He was the third receiver in a talented trio for the Huskies, and he played well for Michael Penix in their final college season. McMillan missed some time with a knee injury but returned to the field and played well to close out the season.

9/2/23: Along with Rome Odunze, McMillan had a breakout 2022 season with Michael Penix at quarterback. McMillan recorded 79 receptions for 1,098 yards and nine touchdowns on the year. McMillan has decent height, but his slim build might make him a better fit as a slot receiver candidate for the NFL.

4/22/24: In 2023, Wilson recorded 48 catches for 789 yards and 12 touchdowns. That showed improvement over his 2022 (25-376-4) and 2021 (25-420-3) seasons. Wilson has some speed and quickness as a route-runner to go along with quality size. He had a solid week of practice at the Senior Bowl and then ran fast at the combine.

4/22/24: Franklin was a reliable receiver for Bo Nix in 2023 and turned in a good season for the Ducks. On the year, Franklin caught 81 passes for 1,383 yards and 14 touchdowns. He notched 61 catches for 891 yards and nine scores in 2022. Franklin has height, speed and explosion, but he is skinny. In the NFL, he could be a Robbie Chosen- – formerly Robbie Anderson – type receiver as a vertical deep threat, but also a wideout with some limitations. Multiple team sources said they had Franklin projected to Day 2 of the 2024 NFL Draft.

4/22/24: Walker had an absurd suspension to start the 2023 season, but once he returned to the field, he was a playmaker for the Tar Heels. He recorded 41 catches for 699 yards and seven touchdowns over eight games. Walker showed some quickness, good size, and big-play ability. However, Walker dropped a lot of passes in games. That also happened during his ugly week at the Senior Bowl. Some sources are projecting Walker to Day 2 of the 2024 NFL Draft. Some teams don’t like Walker, grading him as a backup mid-rounder.

4/22/24: With Jordan Addison in the NFL, Rice helped pick up the slack in 2023 and turned in a strong senior year for the Trojans. He totaled 45 receptions for 791 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2023. Rice was a reliable receiver for Caleb Williams, using his size and polished route-running to make catches for his quarterback. Rice has good size and uses it well to make contested catches. He is the son of NFL great and Hall of Famer Jerry Rice.

4/22/24: Smith is a dangerous playmaker with the ball in his hands. He is a quick, shifty route-runner who is consistent about separating from coverage. In 2023, Smith totaled 53 catches for 795 yards and two touchdowns. He played well in 2021 (47-509-6) and 2020 (43-564-6). In the NFL, Smith could be a dangerous slot receiver.

4/22/24: In 2023, Wilson totaled 39 receptions for 596 yards and two touchdowns. Team sources graded Wilson in the mid-rounds of the 2024 NFL Draft. Many of them compared Wilson to former Seminoles and Carolina Panthers wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin. Wilson has had issues with dropped passes.

9/2/23: Wilson displayed mismatch size and big-play ability in 2022, hauling in 897 yards and five touchdowns on only 43 receptions – a 20.9-yard average. The 6-foot-7, 235-pounder presents an obvious size disparity, but he runs and moves well for a receiver that big. If Wilson can improve his route-running and fundamentals in 2023, he could be an interesting prospect for the 2024 NFL Draft.

4/22/24: Cowing totaled 90 catches for 848 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2023. He is a quick, shifty slot receiver who is a dangerous route-runner and capable of producing yards after the catch. Cowing is undersized for the NFL.

9/2/23: Cowing is an undersized slot receiver for the NFL, and he was productive for the Wildcats in the past two seasons. In 2022, Cowing hauled in 85 catches for 1,034 yards and seven touchdowns. He had 69 receptions in 2021 for 1,354 yards with seven touchdowns. Cowing could stand to add strength for the NFL.

4/22/24: Corley made 79 receptions for 984 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2023. He earned an invitation to the Senior Bowl and had a solid week of practice.

9/2/23: Corley was a breakout performer for the Hilltoppers in 2022 with 101 receptions for 1,293 yards and 11 touchdowns. Corley is a thickly built receiver who lacks height. His 40 times as the 2024 NFL Draft approaches are going to be important for his selection range.

4/22/24: Weaver played well for Colorado as a reliable weapon for Shedeur Sanders. In 2023, Weaver notched 68 catches for 908 yards and four touchdowns. He could help himself by adding some weight for the NFL. Previously, Weaver played at South Florida. He totaled 53 catches for 718 yards and six touchdowns there in 2022.
